I've been very disappointed by this camera. I bought it largely based on good on-line reviews. I'm on my second one. I bought it from Circuit City in 2007. The first one had a broken display. Returned it and got a second one. The second one worked okay for 5 of 6 months but then I began having difficulty getting stuff to transfer to the PC--I'd get error messages about the drive failing. Eventually it got to the point where I can't record either. I've reinitialized the drive many times at this point and it's just no longer usable.
Compared to my old mini-DV-recording Sony, this camera is flimsily built, all-plastic and I cannot imagine it taking even the slightest abuse. AFAIC...plastic junk. Let the buyer beware.
