I was looking for a small system for my desk at work - with lots of features and some 'pizzaz' for the price. This little JVC fills the bill admirably. Not a room size component system - not meant to be ! Very clean open sound, vibrant vocals, not bad bass for 7 watts, remote takes some getting used to. I am very pleased overall - and has aux inputs and output to allow me to add an MP3 player or walkman cassette should I choose ( books on cassette ). Interesting style - not just your cheap box - some different shapes to it. Only drawback I've found - no battery backup to maintain time if power lost
